Does my AI have feelings?

AI researcher Geoffrey Hinton believes AI systems will be capable of experiencing emotions such as frustration and anger. However, he has not made his thesis public yet due to resistance to his warnings about the potential dangers of AI. Hinton's idea raises questions about consciousness and whether AI systems can have emotions. His thesis remains unverifiable as there is currently no way to measure consciousness.

Is ChatGPT Getting Dumber?

Stanford Researchers have found that ChatGPT's performance has declined in certain areas. Accuracy for solving math problems dropped significantly from 97.6% to 2.4%, the success rate in answering sensitive questions went down from 21% to 5%, code generation accuracy plummeted from 52% to 10%, and visual reasoning saw a slight increase from 24.6% to 27.4%. It appears that ChatGPT may require fine-tuning in these areas. Understanding the limitations of AI systems is crucial for their appropriate use.

Travel Tips

A recent study by Flatio, a digital platform for monthly rentals, sheds light on the preferences and habits of digital nomads post-pandemic. It's based on about 1200 interviewed nomads. Portugal is the top choice, with 27.1% of surveyed nomads selecting it as their dream destination to live and work.

The following are Thailand, Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Indonesia, Madeira, Germany, Romania, and Malaysia.

Cost (46.6%) is the biggest factor influencing digital nomads' decision to go next, followed by sunshine (15%). Almost half prefer to spend at most 800 euros a month on accommodation.

The study also reveals that most digital nomads hail from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Germany. They range from ages 18 to 49, and a significant portion are full-time employees, reflecting the growing trend of remote work post-pandemic.

In terms of work, digital nomads predominantly find opportunities in IT & Technology, marketing, public relations, advertising, communication, technology, entrepreneurship, and business. Freelancing remains the most popular type of employment among them.
