What are we working on?
Weirdo.rocks team took a fair time to reflect on 2022 and made goals for this year. Of course, using our favorite OKR system.
We looked at each quarter of last year and discussed what went well and what not and how we can improve the input this year. Since we are a very small team, it's important to find the obstacles and work on removing them.
Reflecting and measuring the progress is as important as planning. When using OKRs, you need to set up at least a weekly performance review to check the previous week's progress and briefly make a plan to move forward. Then, at the end of each iteration, you do a more comprehensive quarterly review, and at the end of the year, yearly. A solid tracking system makes it easy to look back and identify the good and the bad.
After that, you can easier identify the root cause and work on improving it. Easy, no? 😃

Traveling Update
We are currently on the beautiful island of Borneo in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. It's one of the major industrial and commercial centers of East Malaysia. Kota Kinabalu is the gateway to the famous Mount Kinabalu (4,095 m/13,435 feet), the highest mountain in Southeast Asia and one of Malaysia's popular tourist destinations.
We are exploring Malay cuisine and love the variety of seafood we can find around here. We'll be staying on the island for a month, mostly working but with some short trips to get to know it better.
We just returned from a weekend trip to Brunei, where we visited the capital city Bandar Seri Begawan. Brunei is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, and you can get this feeling just walking around the city.
You can visit some impressive mosques and clean traditional markets that offer a glimpse into the country's rich culture. Besides strolling around the city during the day and night, we visited a food market in the Gadong area, where we got some delicious fish and desserts. We also took a boat ride to the jungle, where we spotted Proboscis monkeys, the ones with long noses, and drove around the Kampong Ayer water village - the world's biggest settlement on stilts been in existence for more than a thousand years.
It was a great experience that we will share in a blog post with all the details on how to get there and our weekend itinerary, so stay tuned!
Something to think about
We believe in the power of questioning and dreaming. As James Clear so eloquently puts it, "if you never question things, your life ends up being limited by other people's imaginations."
A question to ask yourself
We understand that achieving our goals requires more than just setting them. It's also important to examine the daily habits and actions that support or hinder our progress toward those goals.
That's why we want to remind you to ask yourself this key question: "Are the results I am expecting aligned with the habits I am following each day?"
It's easy to get caught up in the excitement of setting a new goal or resolution, but it's equally important to take a step back and evaluate if the actions we're taking daily are truly moving us closer to achieving those goals.
Tool of the week
This one can't go without mentioning - Chat GPT is the star of the show at the moment. It is an advanced language model developed by OpenAI, which uses deep learning techniques to generate human-like text. It can be applied in various fields like chatbot development, language translation, and content creation.
Its ability to understand and respond to human language will change how we interact with technology and enable new possibilities, such as automated content creation, advanced language understanding, and more advanced AI applications.
It's like having a personal assistant next to you to whom you can direct questions, automate processes, and much more. We are excited about it and are exploring it daily to integrate it best into our daily work.
It's free for now, but this will most probably change in the future. Let's see!
